Pediatric Eye Exams

Statesville, NC

Our comprehensive Pediatric Eye Exams are available for all ages to assure quality eye health.

There are likely plenty of things you do as a family to stay healthy, including an annual physical and trip to the dentist. There is one more visit you should include for everyone in your family: pediatric eye exams. Here at Vision Center of Lake Norman, we recommend an annual eye exam from childhood to adulthood and beyond.

  • Childhood- When a child has vision issues, they often do not realize it, as they assume everyone sees things the way they do. They also lack the ability to communicate that they aren’t seeing as well as they could be. You might notice some signs, such as squinting, rubbing their eyes, or doing poorly in school, but the only way to be sure their vision is fine and there aren’t any eye health issues is to schedule pediatric eye exams.
  • Adulthood- Vision changes over time, and sometimes the progression to vision problems is slow enough to go unnoticed. Even if you do not have any vision issues, an annual exam is important to rule out potential long-term health problems.
  • Senior- There are several eye health concerns that are most common when we reach retirement age, such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and macular degeneration. A thorough eye exam is necessary to keep better account of your vision and overall health.
