Dr. Chuck Monson

Optometrist

Dr. Chuck Monson has been serving residents of Mooresville, NC since 2006. Dr. Chuck Monson is a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After earning his undergraduate degree, he earned his doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Monson has practiced in the Mooresville, NC area since 2006 and started Vision Center of Lake Norman in 2013. Dr. Monson is associated with the American Optometric Association, N.C. State Optometric Society, Lake Norman Lions Club, Mooresville Health Reach Clinic, and NC Prevent Blindness.

About Dr. Chuck Monson

 Dr. Monson and his wife also have participated in several eye mission trips for the Bahamas Youth Network (BYN), which gives eye exams and eyeglasses to school-aged children on remote islands in the Bahamas.

Dr. Monson sees patients of all ages for comprehensive family eye care, including glasses and specialty contact lenses. He also treats eye diseases, such as dry eyes, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic eye exams and eye emergencies/trauma.

In his spare time, Dr. Monson enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa, and dog, Winston. They especially like traveling and spending time on Lake Norman. Dr. Monson enjoys staying active and participates in several sports, including golf, snow skiing and wakeboarding. He is also an avid fan of the UNC Tar Heels and the Carolina Panthers.

Dr. Raphael Dixon Weeks

Optometrist

Dr. Raphael Dixon Weeks, who is native of Kannapolis, has been in Optometric practice for over 20 years.  She graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Biochemistry.  Dr. Weeks obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a postgraduate residency in Ocular Disease and Low Vision at the Birmingham Veterans Administration Hospital.  Dr. Weeks lives in Mooresville with her husband and two daughters.  She and her family enjoy road trips, trying local restaurants, and cheering on the Wolfpack!

Mackensie

Team Leader

Mackensie is a North Carolina native. She joined the VCLKN staff in 2020 but has enjoyed being in eyecare since 2016. Mackensie obtained her CPO certification in 2021 and strives to make sure each patient has a great experience while at the office. In her spare time, Mackensie enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, and being outdoors.

Patient Coordinator

Melissa is an Ohio native who has been in Mooresville since 2002. As Patient Care Coordinator, she is the first smiling face you will see as you visit our office. In her free time, Melissa enjoys time with friends, concerts, reading, and spending time with her jack russell terrier, Asher.

Kayla

Optometric Assistant

Kayla is a North Carolina native. Kayla has worked in eyecare since 2012, and enjoys learning about new advances in optometry to help patients have their best experience. In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time with family and close friends.

Ray

Optician

Ray was born and raised in Southern California. He moved his family to North Carolina in 1996. He became involved in eye care in 1998 and has since become an optician. He enjoys the importance of keeping everyone’s individual needs in mind.

More about Ray

He has been married for 30 years and has two beautiful children. He enjoys spending his free time with family and grandchildren. His biggest hobby is flying his drone and photography/videography.

Sam

Optometric Assistant 

Sam is a Massachusetts native who has been in North Carolina since 2017. She started in eyecare in 2022 and enjoys working with patients and extending her knowledge in eyecare. In her spare time, Sam enjoys reading and spending time with friends and her dog, Marley.

Meet Winston! Winston has been a part of the VCLKN team since 2019 and is our official greeter. Winston loves greeting all of our patients and receiving lots of pets and scratches.
