An optometrist is a professional who can help you protect your eye health and maintain your vision.

Someone who examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions of the eye is an optometrist. For instance, your optometrist can diagnose certain vision conditions, like nearsightedness and farsightedness, as well as eye diseases, such as glaucoma. Your optometrist can also identify and help you manage systemic diseases that affect the eyes, like diabetes.

At Vision Center of Lake Norman, we are focused on helping you preserve your vision and eye health throughout your life. Has it been a while since your last appointment with an optometrist? Schedule an appointment with our office at your earliest convenience.

Are Your Allergies Affecting Your Eyesight?

Whether you are a seasonal allergy sufferer or deal with allergy-related symptoms year-round, you may have noticed that your eyes seem to suffer, too.  Is it really your allergies that are causing your blurry vision and itchy eyes, or could it be something else? Allergies tend to create itchiness and dryness in your eyes. If you find that your eye discomfort persists then it is important to make an appointment with your eye care professional.

Dr. Chuck Monson is our optometrist. A graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Monson followed his undergraduate studies by attending the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Today, Dr. Monson continues to improve his expertise and knowledge by maintaining membership in a variety of societies, organizations, and associations, such as the American Optometric Society, the Lake Norman Lions Club, and the N.C. State Optometric Society.

We recommend that all residents of Cornelius, North Carolina visit an optometrist at least once yearly for a general checkup and eye exam, but there are also cases in which you should contact our office for assistance immediately. If, for example, you see floaters in your vision, your eyes are red and itchy, or you are having problems with blurred vision, you should make an appointment to see us.
